Which format?
- Single elimination is the quickest. It is a good fit for a fundraiser or a bar night where you want a winner by the end of the evening.
- Double elimination is the usual choice for league nights and paid events: nobody is out after one bad round, so more teams play more games.
- Round robin pools, then a bracket. Pools of 4 give each team 3 games before the playoff, which is what teams who traveled to play expect.
Tips for a smooth day
- Games go to 21 and are usually played best of 3 in later rounds. Decide the match length before you print.
- Seed by something quick (last event's results, or a blind draw) and write the seeds on the sheet so the byes land on the top seeds.
- Put the bracket on a TV or share the link so players can see their next board without asking you.

How many games are in a 16 team cornhole bracket?
15 games in single elimination, 30 (or 31 with a deciding final) in double elimination.
How do byes work in a cornhole tournament?
If the number of teams is not a power of two, the top seeds skip round 1 with a bye, which counts as a win.
