Privacy Policy

Softfall: Sleep Sounds, by South View Studios. Effective 4 October 2026.

The short version: Softfall does not collect your data. There are no ads, no analytics, no trackers and no third-party SDKs, and you never create an account. Nothing you do in Softfall leaves your device. Its App Store privacy label is Data Not Collected.

Sounds and settings

Every sound in Softfall is synthesized on your device. Your mixes, timers, schedules and preferences are stored on your device only. South View Studios cannot see them.

Microphone (optional nursery mode)

The microphone is used only if you turn on cry detection in nursery mode. While it is on, Softfall listens for a baby crying using Apple's built-in SoundAnalysis classifier. The audio is analysed in memory on your device and is never recorded, stored or transmitted. When cry detection is off, Softfall does not use the microphone.

Apple Watch motion and heart rate (optional)

The Softfall Apple Watch app uses the Watch's motion sensor to notice when you have been still, and lowers the sound on your phone. If you allow it, Softfall also reads your heart rate from Apple Health as optional supporting evidence that you have fallen asleep. This information is used only on your own devices to decide when to lower the sound. It is not stored by Softfall beyond that moment, never leaves your devices, and is never sent to South View Studios or anyone else.

Purchases

Softfall Pro is a one-time purchase handled entirely by Apple, including Family Sharing and restoring purchases. We receive no payment details or personal information from Apple.

Analytics, advertising and third parties

Softfall contains no analytics, no advertising and no third-party SDKs. It does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

This website

The free web player on this site generates sound in your browser and uploads nothing. It does not set cookies. If you send a message through the support form, we use it only to reply to you.

Children

Softfall collects no information from anyone, including children. Nursery mode is a tool for parents and carers and does not identify or profile a child.
