Questions
How many games are in a 20 team single elimination bracket?
19. Every game knocks out one team and all but the champion get knocked out, so it is always the number of teams minus 1.
How many rounds does a 20 team bracket have?
5. The bracket fills out to 32 spots, so 12 top seeds get byes into round 2.
How do byes work?
When the number of teams is not a power of two, the best seeds skip the first round. A bye counts as a win, so those teams start in round 2.
