ClockKeepers vs ClassroomScreen

Keep the projector up. Run the timer from your phone while you walk the room.

ClassroomScreen is where many teachers already live, and its timer is free with 26 widgets. ClockKeepers is not a better widget board. Its difference is control: the projector shows the clock, and the phone in your hand starts, pauses and adjusts it, so you are not tied to the desk.

Who each one suits

ClassroomScreen

A good fit if you want a free all-in-one classroom screen: timer plus a set of other classroom widgets, all on the projector, run from the computer that drives it. The basic plan is free; Pro is $36 a year.

ClockKeepers

A good fit if you want to run a class timer from your phone while moving around, share one link so students can also see it on their own devices, or run a station rotation on up to 8 timers. It does not replace the rest of ClassroomScreen's widgets.

The honest price picture

Do not pay for a timer if ClassroomScreen's free one is enough: its basic plan costs nothing and includes the timer. ClockKeepers' free tier also costs nothing; Pro at $7.99 once adds the multi-timer board, branding and a permanent code for a projector bookmark. ClassroomScreen Pro is $3 a month billed as $36 a year and adds saving and sharing screens, custom backgrounds and unlimited name lists.

Questions people ask

Is ClockKeepers a ClassroomScreen alternative?

Only for the timer. ClassroomScreen is a whole set of classroom widgets. ClockKeepers is for teachers who want to control the timer from a phone and let the room follow it on one or more screens.

Can I run a classroom timer from my phone?

Yes. Run the timer in the ClockKeepers app on an iPhone or iPad, open the web app on the classroom computer or projector, and type the code. You can then pause or add time from your phone.

Can students see the timer on their own devices?

Yes. Share the link or QR code and up to 5 students can follow it free; Pro removes the cap.
