Tune

A steady needle on a held note, and it follows the peg as you turn.

Good to know

Is Tine free?

Yes. Tuning, the metronome, the drone, setlists and the Apple Watch app are free, with no ads and no account. A later Pro upgrade will add deeper practice analysis and extra skins, and nothing that is free will move behind it.

Which instruments does it support?

Any instrument in chromatic mode, plus string-by-string profiles for guitar (6, 7, 8 and 12 string), bass (4, 5 and 6 string), ukulele, banjo, mandolin, the violin family, oud and Highland pipes, and written-pitch modes for transposing winds and brass.

What does the Apple Watch app do?

A haptic metronome you set with the Digital Crown, one detent per beat per minute, that keeps tapping your wrist when you lower it. Swipe over for a wrist tuner that taps when you are in tune.

Does it work on Mac and iPad?

Yes. On iPad and Mac the tuner and metronome sit side by side for a music stand, and on Mac a menu bar tuner shows the note while you record.

When is it coming out?

Tine is in testing now and will be on the App Store for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch soon.
