Shifts that fill without nagging
People volunteer when the ask is small and clear. Break the day into shifts of 60 to 90 minutes and say how many helpers you need for each: setup, morning, midday, afternoon and cleanup. The first and last shifts are the hardest to fill, so name them honestly and ask for a few extra hands there.
Say what the job is in the shift title, not only the hours, and add a line in the description for where to meet and what to wear. Parents are volunteering on top of work, so a sign-up with no ads, no password and no hunting for the Submit button is half the battle. If you do not want the public link to list parents, hide names and keep the roster for yourself. Send reminders a day ahead, and use the copy-as-message button to post what is still open in the PTA group. Duplicate the sheet for the next event, which keeps the shifts and clears the names.

Quick answers
Can parents see each other's names?
By default the sheet shows a first name and last initial. If you would rather keep names private, switch on hide names or the organizer-only roster.
Do I need a different sheet for each event?
Make one per event and duplicate the last one. Keep shifts and counts, clear the names, and share a new link.
