Save, export and print a notebook
Save a notebook file, export it as Markdown or a web page, or print it to paper or PDF.
Saving, exporting and printing notebooks are part of Trident Pro. Without Pro you can still open examples, run and edit the first 3 cells, and see what each action does.
- Open the notebook menu in the top bar and look under File.
- "Save notebook file" saves a notebook file that you can open again later. Ctrl or ⌘ + S does the same. "Open file…" loads a notebook file, and New notebook starts a blank one. Recent notebooks are listed under Examples.
- "Export as Markdown" makes a text file that works in note apps and websites that understand Markdown.
- "Export as web page (HTML)" makes one page you can open in any browser or email to someone.
- "Print or save as PDF" opens the print dialog. Choose "Save as PDF" there to make a PDF.
- On a computer the files download. On an iPhone or iPad the share sheet opens so you can pick where to send the file.
Tips
- Results are not stored in the file. They are worked out again when the notebook opens, so it always shows current answers.
- A notebook made with a newer version of the app may refuse to open and ask you to update.
