Import and export programs
Copy programs between the app and files: text for every model, and tokenized files for the Classic Graphing 84.
The Data and programs sheet has a Programs tab. It lists the programs stored in the model you are using, and lets you save them to a file, copy them as text, or load programs from a file or pasted text.
This works on the models that have program memory: the Classic Graphing 84, the Classic CAS, and the three RPN models with programs (Scientific 15, Financial 12, Advanced 42 and Power 48).
- Open the Data and programs sheet and choose the Programs tab. If the current model has no program memory, the sheet tells you so.
- To export: find the program in the list. Press Save .txt to download it as a plain text file. For the Classic Graphing 84 you also get Save .8xp, a tokenized file that other graphing calculators of that type can read. Copy puts the text on your clipboard.
- To import from a file: press Open file and choose a .txt file (or a .8xp file for the Classic Graphing 84). A .8xp file can hold several programs, and all of them are stored.
- To import from text: paste the program into the Program text box, give it a name, and press Store program.
- If some lines cannot be understood, the sheet lists them so you can fix the text and try again.
- On models that keep a single program (RPN Scientific 15, Financial 12 and Advanced 42), importing replaces the whole program memory.
- Import is switched off while an exam lock is active.
Tips
- Export a copy before you import over an existing program, as a backup.
- Classic Graphing 84 program names are limited to eight characters, upper case.
