Switch between calculator models
Change calculators with the Classic, Natural and RPN switch at the top, or choose any model from the list.
Trident has three families. Classic calculators work like a typical school graphing or scientific calculator. Natural calculators show math the way it looks in a textbook. RPN calculators use a stack, so there is no equals key.
- To change family, tap Classic, Natural or RPN in the switch at the top of the screen. Each tab names the model it opens (for example Classic 84, Natural 991 or RPN 15): the model you used last in that family.
- To choose a specific model, tap the model name at the top of the calculator screen (it has a small arrow). The "Choose a calculator" list opens, grouped by family, with a short description of each model.
- Tap a model. Without Pro, models marked PRO open as a preview: the real calculator with a worked example already on its screen, and up to 20 key presses a day to try it yourself. A "Preview — Pro" label on the screen has an Unlock button. A "Coming soon" model cannot be opened yet.
- Your work stays safe: each model keeps its own memory, history, modes and settings, and they are saved automatically.
- To set up the model that matches your class, open Settings and tap Show next to "Pick by class". Choose your class and the app recommends a calculator.
Tips
- Settings → Reset clears only the model you are using.
- Exam practice can hide some models, such as the symbolic algebra one.
- Keys and menus are different on every model. The Models section of this help covers each one.
