Integrate with a formula answer
Find an antiderivative as an expression, or a definite integral as an exact value.
Without limits, the calculator returns an antiderivative. It leaves out the constant +C, so add it yourself when you write the answer.
With limits, it returns the exact value, such as 9 or π/4, instead of a rounded decimal.
Classic CAS · Antiderivative
Start on the main screen: Press home to open the Home menu (Calculator, Graphs, Settings, and more). Choose Calculator, or press esc to go back to the calculation page.
Type integral( , the function x², a comma and the variable x. Press enter.
integral(x^2▶,x)enter
You should seeintegral(x^2,x) x^3/3
The full answer is x³/3 + C.
Classic CAS · Definite integral
Start on the main screen: Press home to open the Home menu (Calculator, Graphs, Settings, and more). Choose Calculator, or press esc to go back to the calculation page.
Add the lower and upper limit after the variable: 0 and 3.
integral(x^2▶,x,0,3)enter
You should seeintegral(x^2,x,0,3) 9
Tips
- An answer with ln(|x|) has absolute-value bars on purpose. They keep the antiderivative valid for negative x.
