Classic Financial II quick reference
A one-line financial calculator for time-value-of-money, cash flows, bonds, depreciation and statistics. Keys at the top solve loans and savings, while the 2ND layer opens worksheets that you step through with the up and down arrows.
Main screen: Press 2ND then CPT (QUIT) to leave a worksheet and return to the plain calculator. ON/OFF also drops back to the standard screen and clears an error. · Shift layer: 2ND

Menus and screens
- TVM keys (N, I/Y, PV, PMT, FV)
- Type a value then press a key to store it. Press CPT then a key to solve for it.
- CF, NPV, IRR
- Cash-flow worksheet: enter CF0 and each later flow with its frequency, then compute NPV or IRR.
- AMORT (2ND PV)
- Loan schedule: set P1 and P2, then read balance, principal and interest for that span.
- BOND (2ND 4)
- Bond worksheet with settlement and redemption dates, coupon, price, yield and accrued interest.
- DEPR (2ND 9)
- Depreciation by straight-line, sum-of-years, or declining balance, one year at a time.
- DATA and STAT (2ND 7, 2ND 8)
- Enter X and Y points, then choose a regression type and read the statistics.
- BRKEVN and PROFIT (2ND 3, 2ND 2)
- Break-even from costs, price and profit; margin and selling price from cost.
- ICONV, %CH, DATE (2ND 6, 1, 5)
- Nominal and effective rates, percent change, and days between two dates.
- MEM (2ND 0)
- View and edit memories 0 to 9.
- FORMAT (2ND .)
- Decimals, angle unit, date and separator style, and chain or algebraic calculation.
Modes and settings
- END / BGN
- Payments at period end or start. Toggle with 2ND PMT then 2ND ENTER (SET). BGN shows on screen.
- P/Y and C/Y
- Payments per year and compounding per year, set on the 2ND I/Y sheet.
- Decimals
- FORMAT sets 0 to 9 places; the display and AMORT balances are rounded to this.
- DEG / RAD
- Angle unit for trig, set in FORMAT.
- Chn / AOS
- Chain evaluates left to right; AOS follows operator precedence. Set in FORMAT.
- Date format
- US (month-day-year) or EUR (day-month-year) in FORMAT.
Tips
- Cash-flow sign convention: money you pay out is negative, money you receive is positive.
- In a worksheet, type a number and press ENTER to store it; press CPT on a line to solve it.
- A star beside a value means it was computed, not typed.
- To start a fresh loan problem, press 2ND then FV (CLR TVM) before entering new values.
- Use STO then a digit to save a number, and RCL then a digit to bring it back.
- 2ND then +/- (RESET) asks for confirmation; press ENTER to wipe all settings and memories.
