Copy results and the screen as text, LaTeX or an image
Copy a result, a whole calculator screen, or a history entry as plain text, nicer Unicode symbols, LaTeX or a picture.
There are two places to copy from: the History panel (one entry at a time) and the Share button on the calculator screen (whatever is on screen right now).
- To copy one result: open History and tap Copy under the entry. The button says "Copied" for a moment.
- To copy a whole line as "input = result": under the entry tap Copy as, then choose Plain text, Unicode or LaTeX.
- To copy the current screen: tap the Share button on the top edge of the calculator screen (the arrow-out-of-box icon, named "Share and transfer"). On a touch screen you can also press and hold on the screen; with a mouse, right-click it.
- In the menu under "Copy as" choose Plain text (the text exactly as shown), Unicode (nicer symbols such as ×, ², √, π and ≤), LaTeX (ready to paste into a document that uses LaTeX) or Image (a picture of the screen).
- A short message tells you the copy worked. If your browser cannot copy pictures, Image saves a PNG file instead.
Tips
- Table screens copy as tab-separated rows, which paste neatly into a spreadsheet.
- To keep a picture as a file rather than copying it, use "Save screen as PNG". See the save screen image guide.
