Plot data and find a line of best fit on the graph canvas
Enter data in a table, plot the points, and fit a line or curve with a regression that shows R².
- Tap + Add and choose Table. A table with columns x₁ and y₁ appears.
- Type your data. A new row appears when you fill the last one. The points are drawn as you type.
- Drag a point on the graph to change its value in the table.
- Tap the small line button in a column heading to connect its points.
- For a regression, type it on a new line with a ~ (tilde): y_1 ~ m x_1 + b for a line, y_1 ~ a x_1^2 + b x_1 + c for a parabola, or y_1 ~ a b^{x_1} for an exponential.
- The best values of the letters appear under the line, with R². The fitted curve is drawn over your points, and the letters can be used in other lines.
- A column heading can also be a formula of the first column, such as x_1^2, to compute values.
Tips
- Lists from tables work in other lines too: mean(x_1), stdev(y_1), total(y_1).
