Show the calculator on a projector or TV
Teachers can show the calculator screen big, with a key history, a freeze button and a pointer. Use the Present window on a computer or connect a TV to an iPad.
The presenter view shows only the calculator screen, large, plus the last keys you pressed. Students can follow along from the back of the room.
- On a computer: tap the Present button in the top bar (it is hidden on very narrow windows). A new window opens with the calculator screen. Drag it to the projector or second screen and press F for full screen (double-clicking also works).
- On an iPhone or iPad: connect the TV or projector with AirPlay or an HDMI adapter. The big screen shows the presenter view by itself while you keep using the device.
- Keep the main Trident window open. If the presenter window says "Waiting for the calculator", the main window has been closed.
- Move the mouse in the presenter window to show a small toolbar. K opens a big list of key history, Space freezes the screen, L turns on a pointer that follows the mouse, and Clear empties the key list.
- While the screen is frozen, a "Screen frozen" label shows. Press Space again to carry on.
Tips
- Freeze the screen so the class can read an answer while you set up the next problem on your device.
- Teachers can also share a ready-made setup with a link. See the class links guide.
