RPN family · Pro
RPN Financial 12 quick reference
A landscape financial calculator that works in reverse Polish style: you enter numbers first, then press the operation. A four-level stack holds your working numbers, and the n, i, PV, PMT and FV keys solve loans and savings directly. Gold (f) and blue (g) prefix keys reach the second and third functions.
Main screen: There is no menu to leave: the display always shows the X register. Press f then R/S (P/R) to leave program mode, and clear a pending prefix by pressing ON. · Shift layer: f · Second layer: g

Menus and screens
- Time value of money
- Type a value and press n, i, PV, PMT or FV to store it. Pressing a key without typing computes it.
- Cash flows (g CF0, g CFj, g Nj)
- Enter the first flow with CF0, later flows with CFj and repeat counts with Nj; then f NPV or f IRR.
- Amortization (f AMORT)
- Enter the number of periods and press f AMORT to see interest; x⇄y shows principal, R↓ the balance.
- Bonds and depreciation
- f PRICE and f YTM for bonds; f SL, f SOYD and f DB for depreciation.
- Dates (g DATE, g ΔDYS)
- Key dates in the chosen format, then add days or find days between.
- Statistics
- Σ+ adds a data point; g x̄, g s, g ŷ,r and g x̂,r give results.
- Registers and programs
- STO and RCL use registers 0 to 9 and .0 to .9. f P/R records keystrokes into a program of up to 99 lines.
- f clear keys
- f with SST, R↓, x⇄y, CLx and ENTER clears statistics, program, financial registers, all registers, or shows the digits.
Modes and settings
- FIX n
- Press f then a digit to show that many decimals. The start-up setting is 2.

Tips
- Enter the first number, press ENTER to separate it from the second, then press the operator.
- Cash-flow sign convention: money you pay out is negative (use CHS), money you receive is positive.
- For monthly loans, use g 12÷ on the annual rate and g 12× on the years.
- LAST X (g ENTER) brings back the number that was in X before the last operation.
- Clear the financial registers with f then x⇄y before starting a new loan.
- The display shows only X; roll the stack with R↓ to see Y, Z and T.
