Classic and Natural calculators read what you type left to right and follow the usual order of operations: brackets, powers, multiplication and division, then addition and subtraction.
RPN calculators have no equals key. You enter the numbers first, then press the operation, and the answer appears straight away.

Start on the main screen: Press 2nd then mode (QUIT) to get back to the home screen. Pressing clear on a menu also backs out of it.
Type 12 + 3 × 4.
12+3×4Press enter. Multiplication happens first, so the answer is 24.

Start on the main screen: Press MENU, then 1 (Calculate) to return to the main calculation screen. AC clears the line you are on.

Start on the main screen: There is no menu to leave. Press the back arrow to clear a number you are typing, or CLx (g then back arrow) to clear the X register.
Key in 3, press ENTER, key in 4 and press × to get 12.

Tips
- If a result looks wrong, check for a missing bracket. 12 + 3 × 4 and (12 + 3) × 4 are different calculations.
