Show answers in engineering notation
Display results with powers of ten that are multiples of three, like 47 × 10³ for 47 kilo-units.
Engineering notation is like scientific notation, but the power of ten is always a multiple of 3: 10³, 10⁶, 10⁻³ and so on. These match the metric prefixes kilo, mega, milli and micro, so 47 × 10³ ohms is easy to read as 47 kilo-ohms.

The machine shows the number as you key it, so the display changes after the last digit.
Tips
- Engineering notation is only a way to display a number. The value stored inside does not change.
