Calculate pH and hydrogen-ion concentration
Use the log key for pH = -log[H⁺] and the 10ˣ key to go back from pH to concentration.
pH is the negative base-10 logarithm of the hydrogen-ion concentration: pH = -log[H⁺]. To go the other way, [H⁺] = 10^(-pH).
If [H⁺] = 2.5 × 10⁻⁴ mol/L, then pH = 3.602. A pH of 3.6 gives [H⁺] = 10^(-3.6) = 2.51 × 10⁻⁴.

Tips
- A change of one pH unit is a tenfold change in concentration.
- log is base 10. The ln key is a different logarithm (base e) and gives a wrong pH.
