Classic Scientific 30 quick reference
Classic Scientific 30 is a school scientific calculator with a multi-line display. It types expressions as you write them on paper, shows fractions in stacked form, and keeps a history of earlier lines. It also has a data editor with simple statistics and a function table.

Menus and screens
- MATH
- Fraction conversions and lcm and gcd. NUM has abs, round, iPart, fPart. CPX has the imaginary unit, conj, real, imag and more.
- PRB
- PRB has nPr, nCr and factorial. RAND has rand and randint.
- ANGLE (2nd prb)
- DMS marks for degrees, minutes, seconds, and rectangular/polar conversion.
- HYP (2nd π)
- Hyperbolic functions sinh, cosh, tanh and their inverses.
- DATA
- Three lists, L1 to L3, where you type your numbers and frequencies.
- STAT (2nd data)
- One-variable stats, two-variable stats and linear regression on the lists.
- TABLE
- Set a function y, a start value and a step, then browse a table of values.
- RECALL VAR (2nd var)
- Lists the stored values of x, y, z and the other variables so you can paste one.
- MODE
- Angle unit, number format, decimals and real or complex results.
Modes and settings
- Angle
- DEG, RAD or GRAD. Sine, cosine and tangent depend on it.
- Number format
- NORM for ordinary numbers, SCI for scientific notation, ENG for powers of 3.
- Decimals
- FLOAT or a fixed number of decimals from 0 to 9.
- Complex
- REAL, a+bi or r∠θ. Real mode reports an error for roots of negatives.
Tips
- Results can be exact (fractions, roots). Press 2nd then enter (≈) for a decimal or the ◄► key to switch form.
- Use (−) for a negative number and − for subtraction.
- Press 2nd then (−) to insert the last answer.
- Press the up arrow on the main screen to look at earlier lines and reuse one with enter.
- Check DEG or RAD in MODE before trig problems.
- For an x-th root, type the root number first, then 2nd ^, press the right arrow, then type the number.
