Resetting the calculator, number range and precision, display limits and what is not included.
13.1Reset the calculator#
Press 2ndreset0 to open RESET, then choose 2 (Yes). This clears the variables, history and lists, and sets every mode back to its start value (DEG, NORM, FLOAT, REAL, MATHPRINT). To only clear variables use 2ndclear varsto→. To only clear a list use data inside the data editor.
13.2Number range and precision#
- Calculations are done in decimal arithmetic, so 0.1 + 0.2 is exactly 0.3.
- Answers show up to 10 digits. Stored values keep more digits than are shown.
- The largest value is just under 1E100. Anything of 1E100 or more is an OVERFLOW error.
- Values smaller than 1E-99 (but not zero) become 0.
- Answers that need many digits switch to scientific notation automatically.
- The history keeps the 40 most recent entries.
13.3What is not included#
For graphs, matrices, solvers and programming, switch to one of the graphing models in the app.
