Check unit circle values
Find the exact values of sin, cos and tan at 30, 45 and 60 degrees.
The angles 30, 45 and 60 degrees have exact answers with square roots: sin 60 = √3/2, cos 45 = √2/2 and tan 30 = √3/3.
Natural and Classic CAS calculators show these exact forms. A decimal-only calculator shows 0.8660254038 for sin 60, and you can check it against √3 ÷ 2.

- Remember the pattern: sin goes 1/2, √2/2, √3/2 for 30, 45 and 60 degrees, and cos goes in the opposite order.
- The Unit circle toolkit in the Reference library shows these values on a picture you can drag.
